2022 BMW M4 Competition xDrive Review. The xDrive system in the new M4 Competition offers you the best of both worlds whether you need traction or need RWD fun to do some slides on the track. My test model here is the BMW M4 Competition xDrive Convertible. Unlike the various other flavors, the new BMW M4 Convertible is only available in the Competition xDrive trim. It also drops the hard-top from the outgoing model in favor of a soft-top.

Like other BMW M4 Competition xDrive models, the convertible also carries a 3.0L Twin-Turbo 6-cylinder making 503-hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. Mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the new M4 Convertible goes from 0 to 60 comes in at 3.6 seconds, making it just .2 seconds slower than the BMW M4 Competition xDrive Coupe.
