Written around 1730, with the assistance from C. P. E. Bach who wrote the trumpet, oboe, and timpani parts, and Johann Ludwig Krebs who wrote the second violin and viola parts. It is argued that the original version was intended to consist of just strings and continuo. It is a beautiful and thought provoking piece.
