Down By Law is Jim Jarmusch's second feature film after Stranger Than Paradise (1984), and stars Tom Waits, John Lurie and Roberto Benigni; its about three men who meet in a Louisianan prison, subsequently break out, and try to find a way home. I was introduced to Jarmusch through his 2016 film Paterson, which is my favourite film of all time, and this film is also a masterpiece from my point of view, with it's great characters, shot composition, acting, and direction! Roberto Benigni is one of the greatest comedic actors to have ever lived, he's also wonderful in Jarmusch's 1991 film Night on Earth - which I might make a video on soon! Every actor here is at the top of their game, and pair that with great writing and directing, and you get what Down By Law is, a masterpiece.
