One of the best upgrades we did on our previous Tesla Model Y was to install an auto funk opener. This upgrade allows you to open and close the frunk from the app, the screen and the button in the frunk.

One thing that Tesla should have added is this auto frunk opener on the Tesla Model Y and Model 3, but fortunately Hansshow has developed an add on kit to do this yourself. Although you would think this would be a difficult install, it is actually pretty straight forward.

This Model Y Hansshow Auto Frunk Opener is their version 5, which has additional improvements from previous generations. This unit is completely waterproof now and does not require a sleeve on the module.

Install takes about an hour and a half and the hardest part is getting access to the drivers side strut. After that, its a matter of bolting on, adjusting and plugging in.
