In this video we are on Route 66 in Upland, CA to check out the Madonna of the Trail statue. The Madonna of the Trail is one of twelves identical statues that are found across the United States, to honor the spirit of the pioneer mother. The one in Upland is the only one that is currently on Route 66 (the one in Albuquerque used to be on Route 66, but isn't now).

The statute was dedicated on February 1, 1929. The statute also includes a time capsule that was opened in 1979, and then rededicated to be opened again in 2029.
