Living and raising a family in Korea is one the most amazing yet challenging things I had to do as a mom. My name is Dianna and I am an American mom of twins living and raising kids here. After having twins I realized how much life changed for both Jun, Minji, and myself when we entered kindergarten. New worries came and new responsibilities came. Around the age of 4, Jun and Minji social life became more important as new friendships form and maintaining mom friendships. Also the Korean hagwon system starts at 5 years old. Thus, you you will start to see the playgrounds become more empty as kids this age go into their first academy. longer see them around. It's very different but it's a system. As a mom I emerge myself into the school system, the mannerisms, to show my appreciation and to show my kids that I can foster myself into unity within a community. I want to show them I am a strong mother that can adapt and learn everything that goes on in Korean. The kids want to join the Korean education system, which are academies. Today we are going to take a look around and see how it is as an international family living in Korea. The more we embrace the opportunities in Korea, the more rewarding it will be.
