It’s been really hot in Los Angeles lately, but I’ve been wanting to spend more time outside. I decided a great compromise would be to walk around an outdoor mall around golden hour when the sun isn’t blazing. This time, I chose to check out Ovation Hollywood (previously known as Hollywood & Highland). This mall is massive and quite the impressive feat as expected being in the busiest part of Hollywood Boulevard. As an LA resident, I don’t come around here very often, but I will admit, it’s fun to be around the tourists once in a while. This shopping center is not only loaded with restaurants and clothing stores, but is has a really cool courtyard with artificial turf and dining tables. It’s also home to the famous TCL Chinese Theatre and Dolby Theatre (where the Oscars take place). And of course, don’t forget the piano staircase--unfortunately, they had the audio turned off, but usually you can hear the notes of the keys play when you step on them. Overall, this is a really cool shopping center and a great spot to see great overhead views of Hollywood Blvd and the Hollywood sign in the distance.
