Spend a typical school week with me preparing meals from scratch for my family of 7 (still eating for 2 over here!). Our weekday meals are usually pretty simple. Breakfast is some kind of meat and eggs, maybe with sourdough toast or a simple sourdough discard recipe like pancakes or dutch baby. On the other hand, our weekend breakfasts are kind of a big deal, and I go all out - which you've seen if you've watched any of my weekend meal videos. Lunches in winter are super simple, I make a big pot of soup on Monday and that's lunch for the week! As far as dinner goes, every Sunday evening I ask my husband if he has any requests for the week. He usually gives me a couple, I let the kids choose a meal or two, and then I fill in the gaps.
