I test out BMW's M Endurance Lifetime Chain for RevZilla's Common Tread as well discuss my thoughts and experiences having a chain drive long distance touring bike. You will see why I HATE Clip Type Master Links! Almost all of my last 30 bikes had shafts, and learning to maintain a chain has been interesting for someone who often spends 15 hours or more riding a 1000 miles or more almost every day I get on my bike. I love the Tenere 700 for it's comfort, durability, smooth motor and fun off road as well as piling down the miles getting to an event across the entire country. It's one of the very best motorcycles I have ever owned! I travel across the country, fully loaded and I'm not the best guy for remembering to service the bike after a long day. Along with physical symptoms, Multiple Sclerosis has affected my cognition, specifically my short term memory as well as my short term memory. After a long travel day, I'm looking for a shower, a beer and a good nights rest before I do it all again the next day.

After my real world test on the new BMW Lifetime Chain was published on. Revzilla's Common Tread blog, BMW has walked back their original claims of offering a chain that does not need maintenance. They now are calling it a low maintenance chain!
