Hey Food Box HQ Family! Today we're unboxing, taste testing, and reviewing Kencko's new bowls. These plant-based meals follow in the footsteps of Kencko's smoothies—just add water and they're ready to eat.

These meals surprised us. To be honest, I didn't have high hopes for a pre-made meal that is packaged similar to how many emergency / long-term meal delivery services are. Plus, since they're shelf-stable for 6+ months, I thought that the flavor would be packed with sodium to help preserve it or seasoning to mask the real flavor. However, that wasn't the case at all. The meals are balanced, hearty, and flavorful. The little pouch of food actually expands a lot after adding hot water and letting it sit for a few minutes. Is it restaurant quality? Not really. But for a quick and easy meal that's nutritionally balanced, it is pretty tasty. The meals come in around $7 per serving so not quite cheap but not quite expensive either. The one downside is that there are only about 6 of these meals to choose from right now but it's likely that they will expand their selection later on.

Also, we found out while recording this video that Kencko accidentally sent us 2 of the same boxes... So thank you for that, Kencko! :) haha
