The mother of a footballer stabbed to death after accidentally bumping into someone two days earlier has branded his killers “cowardly” and “evil”.

Cody Fisher, 23, was attacked in a Birmingham nightclub on Boxing Day 2022, in an act of “retribution” after briefly making “unavoidable contact” with Remy Gordon at another venue on Christmas Eve.

After smuggling a knife through security at Digbeth’s Crane nightclub, Gordon and associate Kami Carpenter stabbed Mr Fisher in a pre-planned “act of retribution”.
