Paul Jones was the lead singer for Manfred Mann during the early years of The British Invasion. Paul was a friend of Brian Jones who went on to establish The Rolling Stones. Brian and Paul often performed as a duo. Brian asked Paul to be the lead singer of his new group, but Paul declined. By that time, Paul had become an accomplished singer. Manfred Mann had some success, but struck gold with "Do Wah Diddy Diddy" which was released in July, 1964. The song went to no. 1 in England immediately, and in the United States in October. Paul shares with Tom the story of how Paul created his own path through rock 'n' roll history.
