Ever thought the GT63 just didn't have enough power for the school run? Well AMG got out of the GT63 and thought, no, this needs more power. Welcome to the worlds most powerful production Mercedes AMG ever made and not only that this is the fastest 4 seat 4 door on the ring.

This is the GT63S E Performance, it features the glorious Mercedes AMG 4.0 V8 engine that we all know and love but this time it was a hybrid system working together to deliver 831bhp and 1400Nm of torque. These are insane figures but even more insane is the fact this is all wrapped up in a practical 4 door family saloon.

The big flagship cars by #AMG coming in this new generation are almost all going to pair combustion with electric power in some form. The most powerful of those will use the type of system this GT63S E is going to show us in full force today!

So what is this P3 Hybrid? It pairs an AMG combustion engine with a hybrid system, developed with F1 and the Project one. This GT uses the awesome 4.0 AMG V8.

With performance figures without the electric motor even kicking in the current #MercedesAMG GT63S 635BHP and a 0-60 of 3.2 seconds. This hybrid V8 GT, delivers sub 3 second 0-62 and a near 200mph top speed. This really is the Bugatti Veyron in 4 door form!

This is a 400VOLT battery, with 560 cells and can provide continuous power of 93BHP, Or 201 BHP at peak for 10 seconds! This is added to the V8 engine’s base power! It weighs 89KG which gives it a power to weight density of 1.7kw, which is double that of traditionally cooled systems. The entire system adds around 200KG weight compared to the GT63S, which is a small price to pay for the amount of power it delivers.

Is this the future of performance? Well I sure hope so!
