We're going to go over why you’d want to get the American Express Morgan Stanley card in the first place, how you can get the American Express Morgan Stanley Platinum card, and why the Morgan Stanley Platinum can offer the best value of all the Platinum cards, and if this card is worth it for you.

The Amex Morgan Stanley Platinum card is unique from the other 2 versions since it has a redemption rate of 1 cpp for cash back (Charles Schwab version is better than 1.1cpp), the first authorized user is free, and you can get a $695 Engagement Bonus with this card if you also have a Platinum CashPlus card, effectively canceling out the annual fee, making this a potentially “FREE” Morgan Stanley Platinum card.

The main requirement to get this card is to have an eligible Morgan Stanley brokerage account.

Whether or not the Amex Morgan Stanley Platinum is worth it to you will depend on if you have a Morgan Stanley investment account already, your effective tax rate, and the current interest rate.

If you already have the Access Investing account, then this card is going to make much more sense for you and consider yourself very lucky that you got this account before it was closed off to new applicants, but if you don't, this card is unlikely to be a good fit unless you have $50,000 or more to park in Morgan Stanley accounts, and the math works out in your favor.
