Wrongly accused of terrorism and abducted from his home in Afghanistan in 2002, Gamel is subjected to brutal treatment in a CIA black site before being transferred to Guantanamo Bay.

In Guantanamo, veteran military interrogator John Anderson, portrayed by Eric Pierpoint, is pulled out of retirement to extract a confession from Gamel. Despite enduring relentless torture, Gamel steadfastly denies any ties to al-Qaeda, even as he faces the grim reality of potentially indefinite detention. With a critical hearing approaching, Gamel's fate hinges on John's testimony.
