Welcome to another episode of RV Pro Tips. This video will show you how to replace an RV fender skirt.

Over time, the fender skirt may get damaged or discolored. Whatever your reason is to replace it, we are here to show you how.

The tools needed are:
- Screw gun with a square bit.
- 1/8” Drill bit
- Razor knife
- Gloves
-Shop rag and adhesive remover
- Caulk gun with a tube RV grade silicone sealant.
- New fender

Before getting started, take a look at where the fender is mounted. This is very important when I install the new Fender. If it is mounted above the floor line then you have address the concern of water intrusion - which will require some more sealants at installation. If it’s below the floor line -water is not an issue.

Remove the fender skirt starting at the ends removing the screws working towards the middle. With your free hand, grab the fender skirt in the middle and remove the last two screws.

Take a rag with some adhesive remover, and clean away any old sealant from the skirt metal.

Before attaching the new fender skirt, please note that some fender skirts come with holes already predrilled, others come with an indentation where the screws will be installed. Predrill these holes.

If the fender skirt is installed above the floor then you’ll need to add some sealant to the screws. You can add some silicone sealant to the threads of the screws or you can just seal over the screws once installed or do both. The goal is to seal it so water cannot get in and damage the RV.

Place the new fender skirt over the skirt metal and line up the holes. Start by attaching two screws in the center to support the fender skirt. Now simply work your way toward the outside edge.
Now add the screw to the bottom of the skirt center support.

Once the fender skirt is attached you can then add your sealant if applicable.
