I've seen 8 out of the 10 episodes of the new SHOGUN miniseries coming to FX/Hulu (and Disney+). I've also seen the masterpiece miniseries from 1980 multiple times AND read the book, which is why my hopes for this show have been insanely high.

But, for once, this is actually one of those few times where a new adaption brings something new to the mix in a way that actually makes the already great story become even better. They did so good with the technology they had back in 1980, but just imagine the great story now having a budget close to that of Game of Thrones and that makes it possible for them to take what we already loved and made it look like what we've already imagined while reading the book.

I just had to reach out and have a talk with Charlotte Brändström, who directed the third episode of the show (one of my favorites). I'm really eager to see what everyone else will think of the show.

My talk with Charlotte here can't go much into detail now, because there is so much going on in her episode. So we will just make another, even longer interview, when the episode has aired. Also, she's the director of FOUR episodes on the next season of The Rings of Power... but we probably said to much for her own good, so I cut that out and have asked Prime Video to give us their blessing before we talk about that season on the record.

The show drops on Tuesday, February 27. If you, like me, are a big fan of Shogun from before (or realize you're just a new fan!). Please consider subscribing and keep the comments alive under this clip - I'll come back and answer questions if you want! :)

And as always, thanks for watching!
