French President Emmanuel Macron and his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva are meeting this week to revive the relationship between the two economic powerhouses, focusing on trade, defence and the Amazon rainforest. All the while, Macron's warm relations with Lula are being heralded as a flourishing Brazilian "bromance" between the two leaders. Marking a stark departure from the frosty ties between the French leader and Brazil's former right-wing president Jair Bolsonar, FRANCE 24's Nadia Massih is joined by Daniel Lansberg-Rodriguez, Founding Partner at Aurora Macro Strategies and Adjunct Lecturer in the Global Initiatives in Management Program at Northwestern.
