This week we are creating the soundtrack in Pro Tools for the Gardner Mill on our large-scale model railroad. Several of the buildings on the railroad have soundtracks!

While we are using Pro Tools and a huge sound library you can often find sounds on the web and use any number of editing programs or apps. You do need to have your sounds in WAV or OGG format! It's easy to convert and we will cover that next week!

This week we are making the soundtrack and matching the sounds to the speed of the mill wheel.

If you do opt to get Pro Tools it costs $200. Or $100 per year as a license. Either way. We bought ours years ago. Better deal. BUT you also need an Input-Output device to get sounds in and out. They even have a Mic input. They go fer about $800 depending. I'm using an old M Box I got for $100. But it doesn't work with the newer software.
