A dude gets into a fist fight with another guy in New York. The trouble was, the other guy wasn't fighting fair. He had a knife. So, as you can probably guess, the unarmed dude ended up dead. We don't know the specifics about why they were fighting but what we do know is that most self-defense systems have a glaring hole in their approach. They assume they're in a fair fight and that's dangerous, as this case proves.

If you have one methodology for hand-to-hand, another for you against multiple opponents, and yet another for you against an armed guy, you have a serious problem. In fact, you're probably delusional. In this video we discuss that reality and more. The right approach is to train for the reality that should be so obvious: don't expect a fair fight.
