This terrifying legislation opens the door for vulnerable youth to be subjected to the horrors of conversion therapy, which has been shown to drastically increase suicide risk. By prioritizing the prejudices of would-be parents over the wellbeing of the children, Tennessee is effectively sanctioning the cultural genocide of LGBTQ+ youth.
