I trained an AI to generate text messages based on 7 years of texts with my best friend. Using an LSTM generative neural network for AI text generation, I was able to achieve some unexpected results. The further I trained it, the closer it got to imitating my style of communicating. It ended up generating some surprisingly self-aware results. While a self aware AI may be a long way off, this was an interesting opportunity to preserve my consciousness in AI.
