Slab leaks are common across the USA. Most people suffer water damage to their floors, walls, cabinets from a slab leak.

Things you should do before filing a claim with the insurance company:

1) Hire a Leak Detection Company and/or Plumber

2) Water mitigation company might have to remove some floors, cabinets, baseboards, and lower part of a wall(s).

When it comes to slab leak claims and reporting it to the insurance company, one had to find out if the leak was "long term" or recently happened.

A slab leak that is long term, where water leaks into dirt or doesn't cause any damage to your house is probably the preferred type of leak to have. However, if the slab leak does in fact cause damage to your home, you could be looking at a rather large claim.
