These are my go to breakfast!Homemade whole wheat tortillas are not that hard to make! This is a small batch so it’s going to be perfect for attempting to make your first whole wheat tortillas!
These tortillas are a healthier choice then regular white tortillas and make an incredible breakfast if you are looking for ways to make healthier choices.
I like making breakfast burritos with these, you can add any fillings you like. I have been doing scrambled eggs,crumbled sausage and shredded cheese.
These are a perfect make ahead breakfast, and each tortilla alone already contains over 3 grams of protein.


Whole Wheat flour tortillas

Warm together:
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon olive oil

1 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Mix everything together, it will look a little wet but that’s ok, sprinkle on a little more flour and knead. You won’t need to knead much.
Divide into 5 equal portions. Roll I to balls. Brush some oil on all sides. Let rest 5 minutes.
Roll out into circles into about the size of a cast iron pan. Fry on a dry cast iron pan on medium low till bubbles form, flip and continue cooking till it starts getting puffy air bubbles.

Store in an airtight container.
If you do happen to let them dry out a little, you can sprinkle on a l small amount of water and heat with a little oil on a skillet.
