"Si se puede," which translates to “Yes you can,” is rising senior Kim Banda's motto as she pursues her education at Pepperdine as a Hispanic studies and political science major. Kim's story began with a background in the Church of Christ and a life-changing experience at Crossways youth camp at Pepperdine. While there, she deeply connected with Pepperdine professor Daniel Rodriguez who helped her begin her journey at Pepperdine.

Kim is now a Social Justice Fellow working on La Comunidad, a project to support first-generation students as she herself battles imposter syndrome as a fellow first-generation student. Grateful for the opportunities she's received, Kim recognizes the impact giving has had on her life and the experiences and connections she has found at Pepperdine that have shaped her path.
