Incredible Water Tank Designed to Look like Traditional Olmec Sculpture Goes Viral
A water tank in Puebla, painted to look like a traditional Olmec colossal head sculpture has gone viral in Mexico.
Footage published by the artist Yum Kíimil Lee shows the realistic tank-sculpture on a rooftop, over looking Zacapoaxtla.
The “modern head” sculpture, dubbed “Tinacatl,” was created in collaboration the local art collective, Hijos del Maiz, which celebrates traditional Mexican art work and culture.
The Olmecs are the earliest known major Mesoamerican civilization. They lived in the present-day Mexican states of Veracruz and Tabasco from about 1600 BCE to around 350 BCE.
