Reviewing the fresh Google Pixel Buds Pro in 2023, following the latest update which adds new features like Conversation Detection and Hearing Wellness. This blue colour of the Pixel Buds Pro matches Google's Pixel 8 Pro, while the asking price is similarly steep - £199 UK.

Those 11mm drivers pump out some pleasing sound, although there's still no LDAC or AptX HD support here. Audiophiles will prefer a Bose or Sony option, but the Pixel Buds Pro 2023 make up for it with excellent Assistant support.

That Active Noise Cancelling works well. It feels like Google has improved this ANC since the original true wireless earbuds launched, while call quality is boosted with Bluetooth Super Wideband support if you have a Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro phone. However, the Pixel Buds Pro still struggle to pick up your voice if used in lots of background noise.

Other new features include the conversation detection, spatial audio support and improved functionality with Chromebooks. Remember those? Lol. The battery life of the Google Pixel Buds is still among the best in 2023 for true wireless earbuds, serving up over 7 hours of noise cancelling action per charge. And the dinky case can be charged wirelessly.

So that's the Google Pixel Buds Pro in 2023 - not my favourites, but now packed with even more smarts.
