I watched Princess Mononoke at the early part of this year, and I found the similarities and differences between Nausicaa intriguing. What I found most interesting, however, was how the film could be used as a response to doomers. Doomers are a subsection of the internet that have a bleak outlook on life, thinking that the problems we face today are so vast that there is no point to act on them. I ultimately think that Princess Mononoke provides a response to that line of thinking, and I’m here to tell you why.
