Start your day the delicious way with these warm, fluffy oatmeal raisin scones. Easy to make and bursting with flavor, they're the perfect breakfast or afternoon treat.
Ingredients for 16 average size scones:
240g white all purpose flour
89g quick-cooking oats
1 tablespoon (14g) baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon table salt
Vanilla powder or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to taste
106g white granulated sugar
8 tablespoons (113g) unsalted butter, cold
100 -170g raisins
170g cold sour cream
1 cold egg
2 tablespoons of heavy cream for brushing
coarse sugar, for topping, optional
Preheat the oven to 375°F (~190C). Bake the scones for 20 minutes, or until they're just beginning to brown.
