My solution to having a small shop and not wanting to use up a lot of room building traditional stairs up to the loft.

I used a Harbor freight hoist to raise and lower the staircase and some block mounted pillow bearings for the pivot. It works great and I haven't had any issues in the year its been since I built them!

Stairs were assembling using leftover 2x10s from the loft and were fastened with 6" LedgerLok Fasteners, so it's stiff and heavy...

Some of the stuff I use on the channel to help out with the builds (some amazon affiliate and some are just random companies with great products!)
