Hundreds of homes in Newfoundland and Labrador are now under evacuation alerts, as the province experiences its worst wildfire situation in more than 50 years.

Help has already poured into the province including half a dozen members of the Canadian Armed Forces, and the Salvation Army is already serving up meals to people impacted in the community and on the front lines of the emergency.
