This was a rainy camp up in the mountains. I knew it was forecasted and headed out with Indi (my collie lab x) to enjoy the sound and sight of the rain. There is nothing better than having a cosy camp set up, a warm fire, and being able to listen to the rain on the tarp as you cook a delicious meal.
I did not bring a tent, instead zipped two sleeping bags together to share Indi's body heat, a necessity in these cold conditions, with overnight snow falling on the mountains, and a light dusting down at camp.
This is the South Island of New Zealand, where we are heading in to summer. We still have some chilly weather though, but that never stops me.
