An interview with Margaret Anne Goldsmith, recorded between February and April 2023. Lawrence Goldsmith, Sr. (grandfather of Ms. Goldsmith) was one of the individuals responsible for convincing the Army in the spring of 1941 to locate a chemical munitions plant in southern Madison County. This is the story of the Goldsmith-Shiffman family from their origins here in the mid 19th century to today and where historians and researchers can find the family’s archives and artifacts.
