The initial checkout of a Hunter evaporative humidifier model 32500. The unit is still in the box, but is lacking the documentation and appears to have been used for a very short period of time.

My grandparents have/had one of these back in the 2000s. I remember my grandmother using it in the bedroom, and I was intrigued by it because it had a fan.

Despite all the marketing blurbs on the box, this is not much more than an ordinary evaporaive humidifier with a fancy brand name applied to it. It's a great machine and it will humidify a large room with excellence, but it suffers from the same problem as the rest of them -- difficulty of cleaning.

At the old location, I used to use the Lasko 1128 in my bedroom. It worked amazing in terms of humidity ouput and was the only unit I had ever tested which would actually keep the room's humidity evel where desired. The major downfall to that machine was the regularly required cleanings, which were time-consuming and just became a drag.

I cannot humidify the living room where the wood pellet stove is to much more than 20 or 30 percent humidity, otherwise the windows will start dripping with sweat. Most of the time, I am able to humidity with 2 small "warm mist" units that perform satisfactorily. However, when it's very cold and the stove is running very hot, they do not keep up. Those days may be a good time to switch over to this unit.

Despite being over 2 decades old, the filters are still available, albeit from 3rd party brands. There was well water at the old location, whereas there is public water here. It will be interesting to see if this requires less cleaning then before tdue to the filt.
